Tata Motors opens dedicated bus dealership in TN

The dealership, which also has a 2,990 square metre workshop with 12 bays and a bus wash facility, will serve customers from Chennai and nearby Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Vellore, Tiruvanamalai, Villupuram and Cuddalore areas.

Tata Motors is reportedly aiming to increase sales in Tamil Nadu, the country’s biggest bus market, by opening a dedicated bus dealership.This is the first dedicated bus showroom in the country, Tata Motors said.

The dealership, which also has a 2,990 square metre workshop with 12 bays and a bus wash facility, will serve customers from Chennai and nearby Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Vellore, Tiruvanamalai, Villupuram and Cuddalore areas.

The dealership, Bus Zone, will be managed by Janta Roadways Pvt. Ltd.“Through exclusive bus centres like Bus Zone, we at Tata Motors are addressing specific and growing requirements of the bus customer, a very important commercial vehicle customer segment,” Ravi Pisharody, Executive Director of Tata Motors’ commercial vehicle business said in a statement.

The bus business accounts for ~12-15% of Tata Motors’ commercial vehicle sales, and is growing at 20% per annum. About 70,000 buses are sold annually in India.
